Vice President

Emily Diaz is a high school senior from Bergen County, New Jersey. She took up this project because she believes that all young people, regardless of educational and economic opportunities, should be politically engaged. She believes that when voters are politically informed, they can bring about lasting, positive change in their communities. In addition to being the vice president of Youth Upholding Democracy, Emily is the President of her school’s Operation Smile Club and Diversity Council. She speaks three languages and volunteers as a translator for Spanish-speaking COVID-19 patients. Emily is also a swimmer and DECA scholar, and she aspires to study political science next year in college.
